SME presented TBM at CMTS. See news Flash!
We provided an outline of the initiative and the goals and the roadmap and toolkit we have developed to TAKE BACK MANUFACTURING in Ontario and Canada.
This 45 minute TBM presentation was delivered in a rolling format every 1 1/2 hours for the 4 days of the tradeshow.
On 9th June the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) facilitated the formation of an active Forum of a broad range of Canadian technical societies, management associations and trade organizations.
The purpose is to discuss and plan the roadmap to TAKE BACK MANUFACTURING in Ontario.
The goal is to get government, educators and industry leadership to start working closer together to plan the recovery of the declining manufacturing sectors in Ontario.
Similar forums now exist in the USA, and we are sharing data and approaches.
The deep concerns expressed from all involved is that we are all rapidly losing our prosperity via the decline in this important part of our economy, and much more must be done to improve the Canadian business environment, focus and approach to better position us for success.
Everyone knows the issues and the situation, but little is being actively done to fix it, and this forum has a fresh and much broader representation across many parts of industry, and now it is the turn of government and others that set policy to listen.
